PEMF technology applications accelerate vasodilation through vasomotor stimulation of the smooth muscle walls of the atrial system. It does so by creating percussive muscular contraction that can penetrate completely through all muscle tissue in the targeted body part. â€‹

Through these two physiological responses, the PEMF causes the targeted area's vascular system to expand the diameter of the arteries & capillaries. This, combined with percussive muscular contractions acting as a "pump," causes more blood flow to and through the targeted area, which is critical to accelerate the body's healing process.

Vasodilation quickly enables many of the body's healing mechanisms helping with reducing swelling/inflammation, reducing scarring, accelerating muscle/tendon/ligament recovery, & more! Most patients experience improvement & relief after just a couple of treatments.

PEMF FAQs

How is PEMF different than a TENS device?

If you've ever used an Electro-stim or TENs device, your first treatment on our devices may feel very similar. A TENS device uses the selected area of the body to conduct current from one applicator to another. The electrical current is what causes your muscles to contract. However, because an electrical current seeks the fastest route through the body's treated area, this is an indication that the electrical current may not fully penetrate the treated area.  A high-powered PEMF device radiates a very strong pulsed electromagnetic field into the targeted body part that the magnetic coil is placed over. Thus, the nerves of the muscle lying deep beneath the magnetic coils are stimulated, which then causes deeper muscle contractions.

Are there any contra-indications for the use of PEMF healing technology?

Yes, if you are pregnant, have any implanted electronic devices, such as a pacemaker, or are going into surgery within 36 hours of a PEMF treatment. People utilizing PEMF treatment on areas that have just received surgery should also avoid higher levels of pulse intensity.

Is more Intensity better?

In many cases, the greater the intensity yields greater benefits.  The magnetic field emanating from the coil radiates only so far, because of the body's skin, muscles, sinew cartilage, fat, and bone which further impede the penetration of the magnetic field. When using a high-powered PEMF device, the level of penetration deepens with increases in the intensity setting.

How are high-powered PEMF devices different from most PEMF devices on the market?

Most PEMF devices are low powered & operate anywhere from 3-40 volts. Treatment cycles with such devices can be hundreds of hours & in most cases, the user does not even feel any pulsation from the coil. A high-powered PEMF device uses between 5,000-15,000 volts of low-current electricity. This reduces the application cycles to a fraction of the time required with a low-powered PEMF device.

Are these devices also used on animals?

Absolutely! PEMF is also known widely in the animal community (especially here in Lexington, Kentucky) for its quick and effective healing properties. It is used by derby horses & now is making its way into the zoo industries around the world. It can help regenerate hoof tissue which is one of the most poorly vascularized areas on an animal's body.
